THIS IS A TRICK!” DEFENCE DEMANDS CHARGES WITHDRAWN | BLUE LIGHTS CASE
High-stakes courtroom drama erupts as defense attorney Bani Ka unleashes a blistering attack against the state prosecution team during explosive proceedings before the magistrate.

The high-profile corruption trial involves former Eswell city manager Linda Kasha, listed as accused number one, alongside senior municipal officials including head of legal Dr. Muas, listed as accused number two, head of human resources Julius, listed as accused number three, and municipal officer Junas Muanazi, listed as accused number four.
State prosecutors Mr. Sally and Mr. Campy opened the morning session by requesting a postponement, admitting to the court that law enforcement remains unprepared to discover the contents of the official police docket due to ongoing financial investigations into multiple bank accounts belonging to the accused.
Defense attorney Bani Ka forcefully countered the state’s postponement application, accusing prosecutors of misleading the court and actively violating a binding judicial order that mandated full discovery of the docket by today’s date.
In a dramatic exposure, Bani Ka placed details of a tense morning chamber meeting on the official record, revealing that prosecutors attempted to hand defense counsel a duplicate copy of the existing charge sheet while falsely claiming it constituted full legal disclosure.
Bani Ka condemned the maneuver as an unprofessional trick meant to insult the intelligence of defense counsel and deceive the court into transferring the matter to the regional court before pre-trial procedures are complete.
The core allegations on the charge sheet center around accused number four, Junas Muanazi, who faced internal municipal scrutiny over a controversial blue lights incident.
The state claims that former city manager Linda Kasha instructed legal head Dr. Muas and human resources head Julius to halt internal disciplinary proceedings against Junas Muanazi, subsequently granting them unauthorized salary increases as a reward.
Attorney Bani Ka argued that analyzing private bank accounts holds zero relevance to the core charge sheet, as any alleged salary increments were processed directly by the municipality into official accounts and formally approved through municipal structures including Ramco and Mako.
Drawing attention to the immense personal toll of the trial, Bani Ka highlighted that pensioner Linda Kasha suffers from severe diabetes and hypertension following her late-night arrest amidst heavy media presence.
Under strict bail conditions, Linda Kasha must report to the local police station every single Friday while enduring media cameras parked outside her home and public harassment at local shopping centers.
Defense counsel demanded that the court initiate an immediate formal inquiry under section 342A of the Criminal Procedure Act into unreasonable state delays, urging the magistrate to strike the matter off the roll or compel the state to withdraw all charges immediately.
Legal representatives for the remaining co-accused, including Kimra Primari, Mr. Ka, and Mr. Part, aligned with the defense submissions as proceedings adjourned.
