To contain the violent crime wave, authorities officially placed key parts of Ekurhuleni under total police lockdown, specifically targeting Kempton Park, Wierdapark, Tembisa, KwaThema, Nigel, and Dawn Park.

Detailed operational plans confirm that large numbers of police officers are actively deployed area by area to dramatically increase physical visibility, conduct detective work, and eliminate roaming killers.

Addressing the horrific human toll, the official confirmed that authorities are tracking nine young female victims who lost their lives in the region.

Eight of the nine victims have been positively identified by forensic teams.

Seven families have been formally notified by the police, while one identified victim’s family awaits notification pending the location of their physical address.

Updating the public on the victim roster, the official confirmed that alongside the five previously released names, Dikeledi Moralana was located in Dawn Park.

The official formally released two additional victim names, identifying them as Jubilee Zimba and Mpho Mokoena.

Regarding the criminal investigations, progress has advanced following the initial arrest made in connection with the murder of Busisiwe Maslanga on July 15.

Homicide detectives have brought in three primary persons of interest for intense questioning.

Forensic investigations have not conclusively confirmed the presence of a serial killer, as the active cases do not all link together and exhibit different motives alongside distinct modes of operation.

However, lead investigators have not excluded any theoretical possibilities while active police work continues across the lockdown zones.

Shifting focus to a separate high-profile law enforcement operation, the official addressed an incident involving an affluent Zimbabwean gentleman inside a Sandton restaurant.

While the official noted that he avoids social media consumption, police leadership briefed him directly on viral footage capturing the individual openly uttering unlawful threats inside the public venue.

The official emphasized that such threatening conduct is strictly illegal under South African law, confirming that law enforcement agencies have prioritized the case and are actively hunting down the suspect.

The official called upon the Department of Home Affairs to immediately investigate the foreign national’s legal status within the country to enable further state measures.

Describing the suspect’s public actions as outrageous and entirely unacceptable, the official confirmed that top political leadership has issued strict, direct orders to the police to ensure the wealthy suspect is captured and brought to justice.
