Standing trial alongside Vusimuzi Matlala, Zakhele Matlala, Teboho Mabusela, and Thabiso Zondo, Musa Khawula faces heavy charges including conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder linked to botched assassination attempts against socialite Tebogo Thobejane, businessman James Maninjwa, and music producer Sello Lehari.
Fighting to suppress evidence seized during his dramatic 2024 arrest, Musa Khawula recounted a nightmare scenario that began when officers forcibly took him to his residence located at number 34 Fifth Road.
While searching for weapons used in a separate shooting involving an engineer, Musa Khawula revealed that officers placed a plastic bag over his head and suffocated him five separate times.
“Where are the guns that you used to shoot the white man?” officers demanded while torturing him, according to direct statements Musa Khawula made to the judge.
